Misc.Criollo recipe. You will find the tropical root vegetables in a Spanish market or in a South American or Cuban market. Let me explain:
the yellow & white malanga is another name for taro, dasheen, tania & in Puerto Rico it is known as YAUTIA.
the Boniatos are sweet potatoes or yams. Their flesh might be white or yellow. The texture of boniatos is somewhat different to the orange american sweet potatoes.
Yuca is the same as manioc or cassava & is delicious.
Calabaza is squash or pumpkin.
I am sure you will find your tubers & you will be delighted with the results. Let me know how it went.
