Gladys - What abundance!

Misc.
Hello, Gladys - I can't imagine having such a variety of seafood available! To have a chance to experience all the versions of these crustaceans would be heaven to me!

Though I believe it varies regionally, here in the this part of the country, the term "shrimp" is used almost always to refer to both cold and warm water, well, shrimp! (lol) - those creatures without little front claws. The term "prawn" seems to be more often used to describe the largest size of these creatures (like the U-15s), especially on posh restaurant menus.

It would be great to hear from others in different parts of this country and the world to find out what differentiates the terms shrimp, prawn, langostine, etc. Please post!

Thank you for sharing with us.
