hmmmm.... Dumplings, English-Style

Misc.
the wonder of tkl is that everyone everywhere makes everything different and that's one one the things i love about this site. Here is a very different way to make dumplings English style and very nice they are too, though my dear boyfriend makes them best as he handles them lightly -

4 oz (100g)self raising flour
2 oz ( 50g) ATORA shredded suet (pref veg suet)
pinch salt and fresh ground pepper
5 tbsp cold water

1. Mix flour, Atora and salt with sufficient cold water to form a firm but soft dough.
2. Divide dough into 8 and gently shape into balls with floured hands.
3. Place on top of a bubbling stew or casserole. cpver with a tight fitting lid and cook for 20 mins. Serve hot

Enjoy
