June and Gina, have some strawberries for me!
Misc. The local strawberry season here is just a couple or three weeks long, in June. Blink and you can miss it!
One of the neighbouring farm communities' Rotary has a big strawberry fundraiser every year. They sell pails of washed, hulled, sliced and packed in their own juices, strawberries. I get some every year. They are so convenient! I use some fresh, and then I portion out the rest into freezer bags to use throughout the year.
When I was a kid, I grew up in the Niagara Peninsula in Ontario, and every year we would go picking strawberries all day, and then make jam. Which is why I now buy them in a pail with the work already done...believe you me, I appreciate saving the back-breaking labour!
I sure envy you two...enjoy!
Carolyn!
Still have not seen the seville oranges, but will check again today or tomorrow. They are late this year!
June, you will so enjoy your lemon tree! I have many things in my garden that remind me of my mother, too. Such a lovely legacy!
