May i join in?

Misc.

Hi i have gone back and forth over the years with the trick or treat thing. I have done the party (40 kids in 3 bed apt) and the mall thing and nothing ...

I ALWAYS check the candy. Ours is a good neighborhood that we are in now and hubby takes little one out.

OKAY i have to admit somthing here BUT ONLY if you will not judge me --k? if you're gonna judge go away ....

I ahve older kids now and they FIGHT with me to go. I know it is wrong but here they go and and say "oh mom, i won't do that many and it is fun and so and so ..." Well we were having such trouble with my teen last yr we just let her do it anyway better then the fight. she did not do much mostly walked and saw the little kids and handed out her candy to the "cuties" (with the mom's permission)
My middle shcoolers went too but ALL of them do in this neighborhood--then they play poker with the treats for 3 days!! These are GOOD kids no trouble in em (they still say "can Stew 'play'")but it is so hard to make them stay put/home. Maybe if i only let them out if they are in barney costumes .... HA! I even tried to suggest a party last yr but to no avail .... maybe if i suggest it to the ohter MOMS we will get somewhere they could alllll come here with candy ... but my teen girl won't i know ....

once in the 6th grade a man tried to pick me up in his car ... mom called the police when i told her and they did investigate ... "come with me little girl i have more candy" ... it was too late and i was too old and all alone out there --what was mom thinking of? I don't recall her saying stay home ...

so plz advise -- but no judgey ....

thanks
