Sausage Gravy

The best sausage gravy involves browning of the flour prior to adding the liquid. The best way to do this is buy a pound of quality sausage, break it into small bite-sized pieces. Saute meat, add 1/4 cup flour and mix well. As the meat browns, it should take ona crusty, golden brown texture. Add 2 cups milk and bring to a boil. Immediately remove from heat and serve over frsh, home-made biscuits made with the recipe on a White Lily flour bag, excpet use buttermilk instead of fresh milk. A Saturday tradition at my home.
