What a find at a yard sale!

Misc.
Went to a yard sale yesterday, and found a breadmaker BRAND new, never been used with the manual inside. I have never had a breadmaker, and never really wanted one since I usually make my bread "by hand" But with recent arthritis flare-ups, and a rotator cuff problem, really digging in and kneading is not something I want to do right now.

So, I thought - now's the time to get one of these - for $8 (!!!) even if I hate it, there's not much lost.

So I tried my first recipe this morning - it was an "egg bread" which used eggs, and more sugar and some milk rather than the plain white bread. It turned out perfectly and tastes good HOWEVER - not ever having had one of these new-fangled inventions before - is that paddle thingie in the bottom supposed to be imbedded and baked right up into the bread when you tap the loaf out? I didn't expect that! Kind of ruined the first slice off the bottom trying to get it out. Any suggestions or ideas?

I also found a WONDERFUL southwestern terra cotta chip and dip dish in the shape of a cactus - it was beautiful and only .99 cents! What a deal - just happen to have some blue cornchips and fresh made salsa on hand.

Hugs to all - June
