I have a similar recipe, but mine uses only the red and green cherries, not the pineapple. I make them every Christmas and my recipe also makes a ton!! Mine doesn't hold up that well, so I think I will try yours. That is another thing I hadn't thought of! I have sent well wrapped jars of homeade jam, some seasoning mixes, and hard candies. I have also thought of something like rum cake that lasts forever. I appreciate your ideas and will use them. If you think of anything else, please let me know. So is your son still overseas?
