Recipe: Almond Tea

1/4 cup tea leaves
2 cups water
2 1/2 quarts water
2/3 cup lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
In a 4-cup size sauce pan, heat 2 cups water to boiling. Turn off fire and add tea leaves to the hot water. Cover and allow steeping for 5 minutes.
In a gallon jug or other 4-quart container, mix lemon juice, almond extract, vanilla, sugar and 2 1/2 quarts water. Strain the steeped tea into this mixture.
It can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated as desired.

Makes 3 quarts of flavored tea
