Recipe: Almond Tea

Beverages
ALMOND TEA

1/4 cup tea leaves
2 cups water
2 1/2 quarts water
2/3 cup lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

In a 4-cup size sauce pan, heat 2 cups water to boiling. Turn off fire and add tea leaves to the hot water. Cover and allow steeping for 5 minutes.

In a gallon jug or other 4-quart container, mix lemon juice, almond extract, vanilla, sugar and 2 1/2 quarts water. Strain the steeped tea into this mixture.

It can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated as desired.

Audrey Says: "This is delicious and was thought of as a "comfort food" by my son. When he was ill or had a cold he always asked me to make Almond Tea."
