Recipe: Apple Pork Chop Dressing Casserole

APPLE PORK CHOP DRESSING CASSEROLE

3 cups cubed rye bread
2 red or green apples, chopped
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese, divided use
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 cup raisins
1 rib celery, chopped
1 egg, beaten
1 chicken bouillon cube
1/4 cup hot water
6 pork chops (about 1-inch thick)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Combine bread, apples, 3/4 cup cheese, onion, raisins, celery, and egg.

Dissolve bouillon cube in the hot water; add to mixture and blend well. Put mixture into greased roasting pan.

Trim fat from pork chops. Place in pan on top of mixture.

Bake 35 minutes.

Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup cheese over chops and bake 10 minutes until chops are cooked through.
