Basic Barbecued Spareribs

5 pounds spareribs
3/4 cup brown sugar
1-1/2 tablespoons dry mustard
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon ginger
1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
1 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons minced onion
2 minced cloves garlic
3 tablespoons parsley
2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
Prepare ribs. In a bowl combine sauce. Let stand 15 minutes. Place boiled ribs on a deep platter. Brush with sauce on both sides. Let stand 2 hours. Remove ribs; pour sauce in a cup. Grease gill lightly or place ribs accordion-fashion on skewers. Cook according to timetable for Barbecuing until done as desired. Brush frequently with sauce. Remove ribs to platter. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing. SPARERIBS HINTS: When preparing spareribs for barbecuing, to obtain maximum tenderness and meatiness; boil ribs in a large pot with salted water to cover; simmer slowly for 45 to 60 minutes until meat begins to pull away from bones and is gray in color; marinate in a sauce of your choice a minimum of 1 hour for best flavor results; baste with marinade during cooking; grill according to Timetable for Barbecuing.
