SAUSAGE WITH GRAPES
1 to 1 1/2 pounds fresh Italian sausage (links)
4 cups seedless grapes
2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar or fresh lemon juice, or to taste
Place sausages in 10- to 12-inch skillet and turn heat to medium. Cook sausages, turning with tongs from time to time, about 15 minutes until nicely browned. Prick each sausage in a few places with a thin-bladed knife and cook 5 more minutes.
Remove sausages to warm platter. Remove all but 1 to 2 tablespoons of fat from pan.
Add grapes and increase heat to medium-high. Cook, stirring occasionally, until some grapes collapse. Add vinegar or lemon juice, stir and turn off heat.
Serve sausages nestled in grapes and their
juices.
Makes 4 servings
