Billy Beans (after Uncle Billy who concockeded it one 4th of July)
rec.food.cooking/Kenneth Grundner (1999)
A great dish for a family picnic or get together. I haven't met anyone who does not like them.
In 9x13 pan add:
2 cans pork & beans (any brand)
2 cans butter beans (drained)
1 can chili flavored beans
Add to the bean mixture:
1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite)
1/4 cup catsup
1/4 cup hot mustard (not dry)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
In a large frying pan lightly fry:
6 slices bacon
along with:
1 medium onion (diced)
then add:
1 lb. ground beef
Fry till beef is browned. Do not drain. Add this to pan with beans and stir well. Cover with foil and bake in 350F oven 1 hour.
