One Pot Pasta

Makes 4 servings
1 tsp olive oil
1/2 c sliced onions
1 c sliced mushrooms
1-2 (8 oz) cans chopped tomatoes, undrained
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 cup water
2 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp white sugar
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
8 oz macaroni pasta
nonstick cooking spray
Spray a large nonstick skillet with nonstick spray. Add oil, heat over medium flame. Add onion, mushrooms. Cook, stirring frequently, for 3-5 minutes, till tender. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, sugar, spices to skillet. When mixture begins to boil, stir in pasta. Cover, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook 20 minutes. Stir mixture every 4 to 5 minutes while cooking.
