Recipe(tried): Chocolate Cherry Truffles

Desserts - Candy, Chocolate

Chocolate Cherry Truffles

12 bag of semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup of heavy (whipping) cream
1 tsp. of cherry extract or kirsch liqueuer
pinch of salt
1 bag of dried cherries (which can be whirled around in a food processor to chop them into even smaller pieces)

In microwave, heat the cream on high for about 1 minute 'til just boiling. Stir in the chocolate chips til the mixture is completely smooth. Stir in the cherry extract or kirsch, salt and dried cherries.

You can spoon this mixture into little foil candy cups and allow to set in the refrigerator at least 1 hour; or you can pour the mixture into a 9" square pan which is lined with plastic wrap. After it's set, cut into small squares.
