Recipe(tried): Cinnamon Rolls with Caramel Icing and Vanilla Glaze

Breads - Breakfast Breads
Tammy, Hi here is the cinnamon roll recipe. Enjoy!

Cinnamon Rolls

1 large egg, beaten well
1/4 cup sugar (raw or granulated)
2 Tbsp. oil
2 tsp. salt
2 cups hot water
1 pkg. dry yeast, soften in 1/4 cup lukewarm water
6 cups all purpose flour

Mix all ingredients & let rise to double. Roll out on floured surface to 1/2 inch thickness.

Spread on:
1 stick (1/2 cup) of softened butter
and sprinkle with:
1 cup sugar
which has been mixed with:
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
chopped pecans may be added at this point, however many you desire

Roll up amd cut into slices 1 inch thick. Put in greased muffin pans and let rise till doubled. Bake 375 degrees for 15 minutes or till lightly browned. If you want a huge cinnamon roll, then cut thicker slices rather than 1 inch thick ones and instead of putting the slices in muffin pans use greased cookie sheet pans to bake with.

Caramel Icing

In top of double boiler melt:
1 package of caramels with a little sweetened condensed milk (use your judgement, you dont want it runny, just add about 2 tablespoons). After it has all melted it should be spreadable but not too thick (more milk can be added and it will firm up after sitting awhile). If its too runny you can always beat in a little powdered sugar.

Add a pinch of cinnamon. Stir to combine and drizzle or spread on cool cinnamon rolls.

Vanilla Glaze

Mix together till smooth:

2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Spread on cool cinnamon rolls. Enjoy!
