Recipe(tried): Corn and Bacon Chowder

Dad's specialty of the house.
4 potaotes, peeled and diced
1 large onion, diced
1 cup water
Simmer above until tender, then add:
1 can niblet corn, drained
1 lb. bacon, sliced into small pieces and fried
2 cup milk
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Thicken with crushed saltines to thickness desired.
Simmer until thickened, and serve with cornbread. Yummy!
