Recipe: Desserts using cake mixes

STRAWBERRY JELLO CAKE

1 package white cake mix
1 box strawberry gelatin
1/2 c vegetable oil
1/2 c water
3 eggs
1 small box frozen strawberries

Add gelatin to cake. Add vegetable oil
and water; blend together. Add eggs
and 3/4 package of strawberries
(save 1/4 for icing). Beat as directed
on cake mix box. Bake in 300 degree
oven in layers or until sheet cake is
done. (Note: whether you make this as
a layer cake or sheet cake is your choice
and makes no difference in the recipe.)

ICING

1 box powdered sugar
1 stick margarine
1/4 package strawberries

Blend together and ice cake.

WORKING GIRL CAKE

1 can crushed pineapple
1 can cherry pie filling
1 box white or yellow cake mix
1-1/2 sticks butter
1-1/2 cups chopped pecans

Pour pineapple in bottom of oblong cake
pan. Spoon pie filling on top of pineapple. (DO NOT MIX)
Sprinkle dry cake mix on top of pie filling.
Melt butter and pour over cake mix.
Add chopped pecans to top of cake. Bake
at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until done.

COCONUT POKE CAKE

Bake your white cake mix in a 13 x 9 pan. While still hot,
poke holes with handle of wooden spoon. Pour 1 can
Cream of Coconut over cake. Let cool.

Mix 1 container Cool Whip with 1/2 package of Baker's
Coconut and ice top of cake. Sprinkle remaining Coconut over icing.

Fruit Cobbler:

1 white cake mix
1 stick of butter
1 can fruit pie filling or more.

Mix cake and butter till crumbly,
put half in baking pan (rectangular)
Add pie filling then rest of crumb
mixture on top. Bake for 35 min. at 350
degrees. Serve with whip cream or ice-cream.

CHERRY PUDDING CAKEMelt 1 stick of margarine in 9x13 pan.
Dump in white cake mix, add 1 can sour
pie cherries and bake at 350 till
done. Serve with cool whip. Enjoy!
