Please don't laugh, but this recipe was given to me by a friend who raised three children by herself, sometimes with a bare cupboard. It may not appeal to your champaign tastes :-), but maybe it will give you some ideas for variations. I don't have the proportions, so you'll have to experiment a little. She was desperate one day and threw this together from the only things left on the shelf. Her kids loved it but insisted it had to have a name, so she called it . . .
Slop
1 can cream of celery soup
1 can tuna, drained
Rice (check the box to see the proportion of liquid to rice and estimate how much would work with this. Add a bit of water--I told you I didn't have the exact proportions!)
Mix together and simmer on top of stove until rice is done (probably 20-25 min.)
Her adult daughter called her yesterday and said, "Hey, Mom. I made Slop for dinner tonight--the kids loved it!"
