DUTCH ALMOND COOKIES
3/4 cup butter, room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup slivered almonds (2 oz.)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cream butter and sugar. Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.
On a floured board, roll out dough into a 12-inch square. Cut dough into 2-inch squares. Brush with egg and sprinkle with almonds. Place on baking sheet.
Bake about 8 minutes, or until light brown.
