FRENCH GARLIC BREAD (PAIN A L' AIL)
1/4 lb. (1 stick) butter or margarine
1 tsp. garlic salt (or 1/2 tsp. garlic powder)
1 loaf French bread
Cream together butter and garlic salt or garlic powder.
Slice French bread diagonally Do not cut through bottom of crust. Spread garlic butter between Slices. Wrap in foil.
Heat 20 minutes in 350 degree F oven, or on edge of outdoor grill.
Makes 8 servings
