Recipe(tried): Fresh Fruit Pie
Misc.HI,
I hope that you find this helpful :o)This is an old wood cookstove recipe I
use. The conversion should be the same as with any temp in baking.
Prepare pie crust according to favorite method. Arrange the lower crust in the
pie pan. Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork several times and put in hot
oven for about 10 minutes,or until light brown.
Prepare fruit using 1 quart of berries,or 3 cups of peeled, sliced fruit such
as peaches. Mix 1 cup of sugar with 3 tbspns of flour (using a little more
sugar for very tart fruit such as gooseberries). Add a few grains of salt to
this mixture and stir. Put on low fire and stir constantly until juice is
thickened and fruit is tender but still whole. let cool. Pour into the baked
pie shell and top with upper crust. Bake for 10-20 minutes.
