Recipe(tried): Fudge

Desserts - Candy, Chocolate

This is the easiest and most successful fudge I have ever tried. Do let it set at least 24 hours in a cool place before cutting.

Fudge
4 1/2 cups sugar
1 13 ounce can evaported milk
1/2 pound butter
18 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups coarsely chopped nuts

Use a large heavy pan to cook this in. Over low heat, cook the milk and sugar, sirring constantly. Bring t a boil and let boil for 15 minutes, still constantly stirring. Take off heat. Immediately stir in butter, nuts, chips and vanilla. Stir until all melted and well blended. Pour into a buttered 9x13x2 inch pan. Let set in cool place. Makes approximately 5 pounds.

This is a real hit at bake sales. i often cut and wrap large individual pieces and it goes quickly.
