GERMAN CHOCOLATE SQUARES
FOR THE CHOCOLATE SQUARES:
1/3 cup Jiffy baking mix (biscuit mix)
2 ounces German sweet chocolate
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
3 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pinch salt
1 cup chopped pecans
FOR THE FROSTING:
1 package Jiffy white frosting mix
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/4 teaspoon maple flavoring
1/2 cup coconut
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9 inch square cake pan.
Melt chocolate and butter. Set aside.
To beaten eggs, add baking mix, sugar and salt and blend together. Fold in pecans, vanilla and chocolate mixture. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cool. Cut in squares.
Mix frosting ingredients together in small saucepan. Over medium heat bring mixture to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Remove from heat and cool. Frost and serve.
