Recipe: Helen Harmon's Barbecued Butter Beans

Helen Harmon's Barbecued Butter Beans

Vert Tasty! I don't remember how many this serves, I'd say 6-8, at least.

3/4 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup catsup
1/3 cup dark corn syrup
1-3 tsp liquid smoke
2-3 drops Tabasco
1 med onion, diced
3 cans (18 oz each) large butter beans, drained
4 strips raw bacon

Combine brown sugar, catsup, syrup, liquid smoke, Tabasco, and onion. Add beans. Mix well. Pour into 1 1/2 qt. casserole. Place bacon strips on top. Bake at 325 degrees for one hour.
