Recipe: Homemade Grape Nuts

Breakfast and Brunch
HOMEMADE GRAPE NUTS

3 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup honey
1 teaspoon salt (optional)
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup brown sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 11x8-inch pan or 2 cake pans.

Dissolve baking soda in buttermilk. Add remaining ingredients. Put mixture into prepared pan(s).

Bake for 35 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.

Put through coarse blade of food chopped or use steel knife of food processor to break into small pieces.

Place on cookie sheet and bake at 300 degrees F until dry and crunchy.
