Recipe: Honey-Date Breakfast Couscous

Breakfast and Brunch
HONEY-DATE BREAKFAST COUSCOUS

2 1/4 cups milk
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
Pinch of ground nutmeg
1 (10 ounce) box instant couscous
1/2 cup coarsely chopped dates
1/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
Honey (for serving)
Heavy (whipping) cream (optional, for serving)

Combine the milk, butter, salt and nutmeg in a medium-size saucepan. Bring to a boil. Stir in the couscous. Remove the pan from the heat and cover. Let stand for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork. Stir in the dates and walnuts.

Divide the couscous among 4 cereal bowls. Serve immediately with honey and heavy cream, if desired, on the side.

Makes 4 servings
