Not sure how many apples to buy for that special recipe? Here are some helpful equivalents.

1 LARGE APPLE:
Diameter Size = 3-3/4-nches (9.5 cm)
Sliced or Chopped = 2 cups
Finely chopped = 1 1/2 cups
Grated = 1 1/4 cups
Sauce = 3/4 cup

1 MEDIUM APPLE:
Diameter Size = 2-3/4-nches (7 cm)
Sliced or Chopped = 1 1/3 cups
Finely chopped = 1 cup
Grated = 3/4 cup
Sauce = 1/2 cup

1 SMALL APPLE:
Diameter Size = 2-1/4-nches (5.7 cm)
Sliced or Chopped = 3/4 cup
Finely chopped = 3/4 cup
Grated = 1/2 cup
Sauce = 1/3 cup

1 POUND = 4 small apples OR 3 medium apples OR about 2 large apples
1 (9 OR 10-INCH) PIE = 2-1/2 pounds (4-5 large OR 6-7 medium OR 8-9 small apples)
1 POUND, SLICED APPLES = about 2-3/4 cups
1 POUND DICED APPLE = about 3 cups
1 PECK = 10-1/2 pounds
1 BUSHEL = 42 pounds
