Recipe: Lemon or Orange Pull-Part Rolls with Citrus Glaze (using frozen dinner roll dough)

Breads - Yeast Breads
LEMON OR ORANGE PULL-PARTS

20 Rhodes Frozen Dinner Rolls, unbaked
2 lemons or 1 orange
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup margarine, melted

FOR THE CITRUS GLAZE:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon margarine, melted
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice or orange juice

Thaw rolls until soft (about 2 hours at room temperature).

Grate the peel from 2 lemons or 1 orange and mix with 1/2 cup sugar.

Cut thawed rolls in half and place in 13x9-inch baking pan that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Pour 1/4 cup melted margarine over rolls. Sprinkle with half of the rind/sugar mixture, reserving the remaining 1/2 of the mixture to sprinkle on just before baking. Cover with plastic wrap that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Let rise until double in size.

Remove plastic wrap and bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes. Remove baked rolls from pan and place on a rack within 4-5 minutes after removing from oven.

Combine the ingredients for the Citrus Glaze and mix until thin. Glaze rolls while they are still warm.

Makes 40 rolls
