BATTER ROLLS
2/3 cup warm water
1 package active dry yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg, room temperature
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour, divided use
Melted butter
Sesame seeds
Put 2/3 cup warm water, yeast, sugar, salt, shortening, egg and 1/2 cup flour in blender container; cover and blend just to mix. Using the pulse button, continue adding flour, a little at a time, until all flour is blended in and batter is very smooth. Turn blender off.
Spoon batter into greased muffin cups, filling each about 1/2 full. Let rise in warm place until batter reaches top of cups, about 35 minutes.
Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake in preheated 375 degree F oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
