Lemon Pound Cake with Lemon Glaze

3 cups sugar
1 cup margarine or butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
5 eggs
3 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup milk
1 tbsp. lemon extract
1 tbsp. grated lemon peel

GLAZE:
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 to 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp. grated lemon peel

In large bowl, cream sugar, butter, and shortening until light and fluffy.

Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

Combine flour, salt and baking powder. Gradually add to creamed mixture alternating with milk. Mix well after each addition.

Add lemon extract and peel. Mix on low until blended. Pour into greased bundt pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 70 minutes or until tests done. Turn out onto rack to cool.

For glaze:
Combine all ingredients and drizzle over cooled cake.
