Recipe: Meat Loaf - Barbecue Style (Hunt's Tomato Sauce recipe, 1960's)

MEAT LOAF - BARBECUE STYLE
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
1 onion, finely chopped
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cans (8 oz.) Hunt's Tomato Sauce
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons each vinegar and brown sugar
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Mix together beef, crumbs, onion, beaten egg, salt, pepper and 1/2 can tomato sauce. Form into loaf. Put in shallow 7x10-inch, pan.
Combine all remaining ingredients. Pour over loaf.
Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees F) 1 hour and 15 minutes. Baste occasionally.
Makes 4-6 servings
