Recipe(tried): Rinderwurst - Our family made this also

Main Dishes - Beef and Other Meats
RINDERWURST

Beef roast with good marble (chuck roast)
Salt
1 yellow onion
Old fashion oatmeal (3 cups for large roast)
Allspice

Cook the roast in pot of water and pinch salt. Make sure roast is fully covered with water. Cook until done no more pink, save the water you cooked the roast in.

Cut the roast up and grind with a meat grinder with the onion also.

Take the roast water and bring to a boil; add the (uncooked) oatmeal, and stir in the ground up meat with the onion - it should be thick. Add allspice to taste (I use quit-a-bit of allspice because that's what give it the taste that's unique).

You can eat it right then, which our family loved or you can fry in cast-iron pan then put on your bread. Hope this will help you out.
