Recipe: Marinated Steak Brochettes (Heinz 57 Sauce recipe, 1990's)

MARINATED STEAK BROCHETTES3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup Heinz 57 Sauce
2 tablespoons Heinz Wine Vinegar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon Dijon-style mustard
1 tablespoon Heinz Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram leaves
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (1 to 1 1/2 pound) flank steak, cut across the grain into 1/2-inch thick slices
For marinade, in small bowl, combine all ingredients except steak; whisk well to combine.
Place steak in shallow dish; pour marinade over. Cover and marinate 1 hour.
Remove steak from marinade, reserving marinade. Thread steak on skewers. Boil reserved marinade for a few minutes.
Grill or broil steak about 3-inches from heat 3 to 4 minutes per side or until desired doneness, brushing with reserved marinade.
Makes 4-6 servings
