Recipe: Peas Epicurean

Side Dishes - Vegetables
Peas Epicurean

1 box frozen peas, cooked and drained
1 c. heavy cream
4 strips bacon
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 4 oz. can mushroom pieces, drained
1 T. flour
salt & pepper to taste
worchestershire sauce, 1 to 2 T.
dash of accent

Chop bacon and brown with onion
Add flour, stir in cream, stirring constantly until it thickens and is smooth. Add seasonings and mushrooms. Add peas. Serves 8. This can easily be doubled or tripled, but if you triple it, you might want to remove some of the bacon drippings if the bacon was pretty fatty.

We serve this at every family gathering and have for the past 30 years.
