Recipe: Pickled Onions (and caution regarding identifying wild onions)

Preserving - Pickles, Relishes
I am sorry, but I don't have any recipes for wild onions. The only thing that I think you may be able to do with them is pickle them.

I understand that if you are not 100% sure that they are indeed wild onions, there is a plant that looks similar that it poisonous. I have no experience with them, so if you are not sure and need help, take them to your local county extension office. They may also have some recipes as some foods are distinct to certain areas of the country and the extension offices there know more about them.

PICKLED ONIONS

Tiny white onions
Pickling salt
Water
Vinegar

Peel onions.

In a glass bowl, cover onions with water. Sprinkle with pickling salt; leave to soak for 24 hours.

Drain onions; transfer onions into jars. Fill jars with vinegar.

Process filled jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.

Remove and seal jars immediately.
