Recipe By :posted by Marli
6 large green, red or yellow peppers, with tops sliced off and cored
Bits of pepper removed when slicing off tops, chopped
2 stalks celery, diced
1 medium onion diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb extra lean ground beef (or chicken, veal or pork)
1 cup raw rice, cooked as usual with some salt and Italian seasoning in the water
1 can diced tomatoes
Brown beef and drain all fat. Saut onions and garlic until tender. Add peppers and garlic. Return beef and cooked rice. Add tomatoes. Season with salt pepper, Italian seasoning, whatever you like. While meat mixture is cooking in large pot boil water. Blanch peppers just before they are needed so they are still hot. I usually place them in the water and fill the cavity with water and boil about 2 minutes. Drain.
Fill pepper with meat mixture and serve. Dawn(NY) (04:31:00) : BURGERS THAT DON'T FALL APART
1 lb ground round or sirloin (or hamburger)
1 egg
1 Tbsp L&P or A1 type sauce (or your fav.)
1/4 to 1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup chopped onion (opt.)
1 tsp garlic powder (opt.)
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix very well. I use my hands to mix. The ground meat should be very finely divided so that when you make the patties they are very dense. This is what keeps them from falling apart on the grill. Verla,.Il (04:23:18) : Small Family Casserole
