Recipe: Scaly Swampthing (no bake corn flake cookie man sunk in chocolate pudding)
Desserts - Puddings, GelatinSCALY SWAMPTHING
FOR THE MUD:
2 cups milk
1 (6 oz) box of instant chocolate pudding mix
FOR THE SWAMP THING:
vegetable cooking spray
1 cup butter
3/4 cup light corn syrup
2 cups brown sugar, packed
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
green food coloring
1 (19 oz) box corn flakes
TO MAKE THE MUD:
Pour milk and chocolate pudding mix into a small bowl. Whisk thoroughly and pour into a glass pan. Chill and refrigerate about 30 minutes, or until set.
TO MAKE THE SWAMP THING:
Spray a wooden spoon liberally with vegetable spray and set aside. Lay a large sheet of waxed paper, abut 24 inches, onto your work surface.
Place butter, corn syrup, and brown sugar in a pot on the stove. Heat and stir with wooden spoon until mixture begins to bubble.
Pour in condensed milk and add food coloring one drop at a time, until you get the shade of swamp green that you want. Bring mixture to a boil and stir for another minute.
Take the pot off the stove and pour the corn flakes into the mixture. Use the wooden spoon to mix ingredients together. Allow the mixture to cool just enough to handle.
Shape cornflake mix, which will be solid and sticky, into one large Swamp Man figure. Stick him securely in the pudding mixture.
When you're ready to serve, encourage each guest to rip off a limp and dip it in the "mud".
