Recipe(tried): Shrimp Appetizers (broiled)

SHRIMP APPETIZERS

3 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb large shrimp, shelled, deveined
1/2 cup Roquefort cheese
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons brandy
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
4 slices pumpernickel bread
Lemon slices

Preheat the broiler.

Heat the oil in a skillet. Add the garlic. Saute the shrimp briefly in the skillet. Remove the shrimp and set aside.

Combine the Roquefort, the cream cheese, brandy and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl; stir thoroughly. Spread the cheese mixture on the pumpernickel slices.

Place the bread slices under the broiler to brown for about 2 minutes.

Remove and place each bread slice on a plate. Top each slice with one sauteed shrimp. Serve with a lemon slice.

Makes 4 servings
