Recipe(tried): Sisters Casserole (using stuffing mix, mushroom soup, and green beans)
Side Dishes - Stuffings, DressingsSISTERS CASSEROLE
This is an easy recipe using Stove-Top stuffing, whole or cut canned green beans, Campbell's cream of mushroom soup, and fried onions as a topping.
This recipe is for approx. 4-6 servings, but is easily doubled and more! It's a huge hit at picnics and dinner-time!
2 boxes Stove-Top Stuffing
1 (10 oz) can Campbell's Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 (16 oz) can green beans, drained (cut beans work fine, but I like using whole beans because they will start falling apart as you stir and especially after baking)
Durkee French Fried Onions (for topping)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Prepare stuffing according to package directions ((using the less water for a dryer consistency). As directed, cover to set and fluff with fork.
Put stuffing into glass baking dish and stir in mushroom soup, then stir in green beans.
Bake at 325 degrees F for 35 minutes, allowing flavors to blend.
Stir casserole and top it with the onions; bake for 10 more minutes. The fried onions are a perfectly crunchy topping for this creamy casserole!
Ready for eating... Enjoy!
Some people make this as a stove-top dish, omitting baking time, altogether. I think the flavors blend and soup simmers down better when using baking directions though. I call it Sisters Casserole because me and my sissy came up with it.
