Nesco Roaster Oven Swiss Steak
alt.cooking.chien/Cheryl Butler (1999)

From Nesco 6 quart recipe booklet, but I have used 4 qt.

2 1/2-3 lbs. round steak-- cut in serving sized pieces
sprinkle with meat tenderizer and fresh ground blk. pepper
2 tsp. Worchestershire sauce
2 large onions, sliced
1 (16 oz.) can sliced stewed tomatoes(I use 2 cans)
Mrs. Dash, basil, garlic powder to taste

Preheat roaster to 375 degrees.

Lightly spray with Pam.

Place Meat in roaster.
Cover and roast 20 minutes.
Sprinkle with Worcestershire Sauce.
Put in onions.
Put in stewed tomatoes (with juice)
Sprinkle with above spices.

Reduce to 300 degrees. Cover and roast 30-40 minutes.

For slow cooking use above directions, except reduce to 250 degrees for 2-3 hours.
