the hot house rice was very simple the rice was sauteed in lard till a light tan color then finely diced yellow onion and bell pepper were added cook till translucent add a little tomatoe sauce stir cover with water about 1" above rice bring to a boil cover turn to low cook till done about 20 min. the el burro in san jose ca. serves a rice that is very close to the hot house rice i used to go to the bull pup also but i thought the hot house was much better.
