Recipe: Upper Michigan Pasties (using ground beef and Jiffy pie crust mix)

Main Dishes - Beef and Other Meats
UPPER MICHIGAN PASTIES

2 pounds ground beef
3 cups peeled and cubed raw potatoes
4 large carrots, diced
2 onions, diced
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 packages (9 ounces each) Jiffy Pie Crust Mix
5 tablespoons very cold water for each package of pie crust mix

Mix all ingredients, except pie crust mixes and cold water, in a large bowl; set aside.

Empty pie crust mixes in a large bowl. Add 5 tablespoons very cold water for each box of mix used; toss together to form dough.

Roll out portions of the dough into 8-inch rounds. Heap a cupful or more of the meat mixture on each. Fold the dough over like a turnover and seal the edges. Place on large cookie pan.

Bake at 375 degrees F until brown, about 45 minutes.
