Recipe(tried): Victory Pig Pizza - varitaions
Pizza/FocacciaI have toyed around with Victory Pig Pizza recipe for years. Grew up on it and love it.
One thing to make note of; the day before you make this pizza, chopped your onions. And...don't use the small onions, try the huge ones. For some reason the small onions have a very strong taste. The large ones tend to be sweeter and I b elieve this is the kind they use. I also believe they must prepare the onions the day or night before and that the next day they are mixed in with the crushed tomatoes so that the flavor permeates throughout.
There is a good chance the cheese they use is what they call "Pizza Cheddar". I used that when I had my restaurant. If you can email me and I'll tell you where you can get it in Plains.
You know, of course, that it is a fried dough and it's impossible to duplicate that at home. But give the recipe sent you a try. Looks good.
