Recipe(tried): What's the English Muffin recipe? Pecan Pie Bars, Food Processor Pie Dough

Desserts - Cookies, Brownies, Bars
that you make in the bread machine? I'd like to try it. I don't bake bread very often in the machine either, mostly use it for the mixing and rising. I have a 46 year old sourdough starter from South Dakota (thru family members) that I use sometimes in bread but mostly for pancakes. When I have a ton of apples I usually just make really chunky applesauce on the stove. I'm not too great at the pie crust thing, that's my son's department, he even cuts out leaves and things from the scraps and decorates the tops of the pies. He's the pie baker for his wife's family after wowing them while they were dating.I save my pie crust making talent for the savory Michigan Cornish Pasties I make from my grandmother's recipe. So, since I'm not a pie crust maker, but love pie, here's the shortcut recipe I use when I want pecan pie. PLUS you can use your new food processor for both the crust and then the filling without having to wash the processor bowl between. Also a food processor pie dough that always works well for me.
PECAN PIE BARS
Preheat oven to 350
2 cups flour
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 sticks margarine or butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup light Karo syrup
1/3 cup margarine
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Mix flour, powdered sugar. Cut in the 2 sticks of margarine like pie dough. Press into a 9"x13" pan that has been sprayed with nonstick baking spray. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350. Meanwhile, mix brown sugar, eggs, syrup, 1/3 cup margarine, salt and vanilla together. Add crushed pecans. Pour over crust and bake 25 minutes at 350.Yum!!

FOOD PROCESSOR PIE DOUGH
1 3/4 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup shortening (I use Margarine)
1/3 cup cold water
Process flour and salt to combine. Add shortening and pulse 'til pieces are the size of small peas. Add water and pulse just 'til a dough begins to form. Form dough into a ball with hands. Divide into 2 balls. Roll out and finish as desired. This is very easy dough to work with, and even rolls out easily from the refrigerator. Can be stored in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks, in plastic wrap.
