ISO: Fixing a Flop

Misc.

I tried a new recipe for spinach pie, and it flopped big-time. Just wondered if anyone has an idea on how to rework it into something more palatable.

it was "florentine pie." basically cooked spinach, two eggs and a carton of cottage cheese mixed together and cooked in a pie shell. well, i cooked it and cooked it, until the pie crust turned brown and, uh, very well done. and the darn thing still looks and tastes like cottage cheese with bits of spinach stirred in. The Frugal Swede wouldn't even try it. The dog wouldn't even try it.

1. what did i do wrong, that the cottage cheese never melted down?

2. is there anything i can do with the spinach filling that my DH would eat?

thanks,
