Christams tea party ideas ....

Misc.

I love a tea party -- be sure to read my post about the one i had for my daughter -- ESP aobut the silver teas spoons -- if you want to do those go to the oldest ratty antque store and ask the owner for them and tell her what they are for -- she'll have a box hidden away and will offer them inexpensivly :)

At the Tea shop downtown here a VERY fancy place -- they offer high tea for 2 -- i must say it is a real esay thing to do -- they offer a variety of sandwhiches -- get this they simply roll regular white bread with a rolling pin - not TOOO thin then fill and cut the into triangels! that is it! that is EASY! oh and no crusts. I'm thinking you could do this with Christmas cookie cutters or hearts as well. The fillings could be any that would do for pinwheel sandwhiches

OR go to Costco or Sam's club and buy those wonderful croisonts and slice them almost all the way through and serve with an ice cream scoop of chicken salad on the side of the plate.

You want to avoid scooping and passing serving numerous dishes -- tired tryas work well for tea.

for dessert do you have a store that will offer you mini tarts or mini pudding type pies? they look nice arranged on a try with a smattering of powdered sugar over all :)

YOU could make this easily if you have mini muffin tins or i suppose regular size would do -- it is a cheating method but i'm sure would be EVERY bit as good as the ones I paid almost a dollar for.....
1. line muffin tins with a doiley or paper muffin cup - a doily might work becuse they won't be baked long -- expirament.
2. buy those pilsberry ready made pie crusts that you unfold -- cut into the size you need for you tin -- you will have to expirament -- prick and bake till golden
3. while the pie curst are bakeing .... prpare pudding mixs (i'd make inst.)-- LEMON for sure and maybe chocolate
4. fill crusts and refrigerate -- place each on it's one flat doily (availble at Gorden Food Service inexpensive)
5. spinkel with powdered sugar or a dolop of whipped chream.

good luck let us know how it turns out :) the class in a tea party if the WAY in which it is served :) put on the ritz!

oh the tea -- be sure to use sugar cubes or hostess tablets they were called and have MILK out not cream -- at least that seems to be the way it is done that i have seen why? who knows! borrow as many tea pots as you can and creams & sugars too .... make the tea up in the pot rather than just bags & hot water -- put a smidge of sugar in the teapot as well :) i'd do both herb and regular flavored teas apple/cinnamon was our girls first choice personally i liked the peach :)
