Don't wory about a thing!!

Misc.

I decided to become a vegetarian 8 yrs ago. I have been married 12 yrs next
month and hav two great sons, one 11 and my youngest 9. I decided to go
vegetarian after my husband had a kidney transplant (from diebetes) and did
much reading on the dangers of too much protein, especially animal protein. I
have to admit, I could probably eat a lot better than I do, but I think that is
the case with any mom that works full time with school age children. there are
a lot of great cookbooks out there that have wonderful recipe. Martha Rose
Schullman is my favorite cookbook author. As for protien, always keep a tub of
tofu in the frig and soybeans in the freezer. Boil the soybeans in salt water
and they make a great snack with loads of protein. You'd also be suprised on
the protein you get from vegetable and dairy sources. I would be proud that she
is mature enough to make a decison like this that is geared towards a healthy
lifestyle, and not choosing to take up an unhealthy habit instead. By the way,
my husbnad and children are not vegetarian, but meat intake is limitd at our
house. I feel strongly about having the the freedom to make choices regardign
your well being and it's something we all do everyday. good luck to your
daughter and check out those cookbooks!!
