More thoughts

Misc.

Dear Jo;
After reading your second post, I think Becky has some real good thoughts.
The daughter I told you was anorexic is divorced and her children also spend a month here and a month there. The girl is almost 16 and has a lot of friends, is involved in things at school and seems to be very sensible about what she eats. The boy on the other hand who is almost 11 spends most of his time in front of the boob tube and is always eating junk food.
As much as I always fixed nutritious hot meals for my family Cheryl never wanted to learn or hang around the kitchen and help, my other daughter is a wonderful cook because she was interested in learning and helping.
Consequently when the children are at Cheryl's for the month she comes home from work and they get big macs or pizza or taco bell for supper. She doesn't eat it, I don't know what she eats, but that's how the kids eat. When they are at their Dad's, he cooks some, but not necessarily the right stuff.
It is really sad what divorce does to kids, they always feel as though they are the cause and that they just get shuffled from pillar to post like an unwanted animal.
If only it were more difficult for young people to get married, perhaps there would not be so many divorces. I think when they are saying their vows they are thinking"oh well, if it doesn't work out we can get divorced. That's fine for the two of them but what about the children? At the time we tried to talk Cheryl out of divorce, she said"don't I have a right to be happy?" no mention of the kids happiness.
So yes I do think like Becky said Ashley is crying out for help, I just hope she gets it before it is too late. I feel sure that she will if Grandma Jo has anything to do with it.
