good Jo

Misc.

Okay Jo,
I just read you letters and the responses. Sounds like you are doing the right things.

I think from what i understand you have described buliemia. Maybe a fran disscussion with the 9 yr old would help?
Empathize with her plight of being shuffled but how so you love her and don't want her to not bear children or live.

She should know this is not a game and can be life threatnening. I may be wrong but if she is smart or \aware enough to do these things she is aware enough to hear what they will do to her.

She is young for a birds and bees talk but maybe not as it relates to her health things.

GET INFO. :) I'm sure there is LOTS out there even here on the net.

She is YOUNG for this and Jo my 8 1/2 yr old would not KNOW to do this, i can't see that it is a "normal' stage from the girls who trapes through here. I say that to let you know that it is not NORMAL for girls today -- someone may say that who knows ....

We don't want her to not be able to talk to you about it -- let her be open and not act shocked, but be firm when you finish talking with her that you love her and will not lether harm herself. She should not be punished for it as of yet. She already is frustrated with herself and thinks lowly of her actions.

I think that this brings up the bigger issue aobut weight. I am heavy but have been nearly anorexic at the time of my engagement 18 yrs ago -- 86 lbs! I now am not pleased with my weight but hey if does not control me. My sons dr. made a comment once to him "well your hight is at about 25% normal and your wight is aobut 80% of the charts ... i'd like to see this closer, maybe a little dieting will help what do you eat ..." I interjected "or just wait and grow some James" the Dr. was not happy but nither was i he was talking to my prepubesent boy arrrgh! James listen to me and i then introd' skim milk ect as her needed and helped him w/o his knowlege, Dr. should NOT have said that in his presence .. they have enough to worry aobut at this time!!

WEll dear Jo, I'm off the soap box, hope all goes well but i would be concerned and do what i could to help if i was you -- even get a bad name in the family if needed. Her DAD needs to help but if he won't she needs training. :)

love & prayers,
